Light Spectrum And Chromatogram Fingerprint Analysis Of Rhizoma Paridis

There are 24 species of Paridis plants in the world,and 19 species are in our country. These species mostly distribute in the southwest area,especially in Yunnan province. Among these species, Paris polyphylla Smith var. yunnanensis (Franch.)Hand.-Mazz. and Paris polyphylla Smith var. chinensis(Franch.)Hara were added into the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2005) . Rhizoma Paridis has a long history of treatment. It has the effect of heat-clearing and detoxicating,detumescence and pain-alleviating,liver cooling and convulsion arresting,thus it is used for the treatment of ulcerative carbuncle,swelling of throat, venomous snake bite,distressed by tumble and trauma,convulsion by cool breeze and so on. The modern pharmacology indicats that Rhizoma Paridis has a wide physiological activity of antibacterial,anti-tumor and so on. So there is a wild exploitation about Rhizoma Paridis.But in the other hand,the Paridis plants grow so slowly that their yield are only a little every year.Morever,for their important value in clinical application, they are also the key raw material of some Chinese formulated products,such as Yunnan white powder,Gongxueling,Jidesheng snake medicine,Loulian capsule.Therefore,the consume always exceeds the yield every year. In this condition,their resource is being exhausted. For this reason,many species from the same genus are sold as Rhizoma Paridis in the market. These medical materials have similar appearances and different quality,so it is difficult to make a discrimination. It would lead a great differece in the quality of Rhizoma Paridis and restrict the development of industry. Therefore,how to find the vicarious medicinal herbs resource from Rhizoma Paridis becomes an impotrant mission of plant ecosystem resources protection and Rhizoma Paridis persistent development.So how to control its quality so as to provide a theory for the clinical medication becomes a emergent mission.And fingerprint of TCM is generally accepted as one of the most useful quality control method. So this topic aims to set up the method of fingerprints of Rhizoma Paridis,including the infrared spectrum(IR) fingerprint,fluorescence spectra fingerprint and thin-layer chromatography(TLC) fingerprint and meanwhile to supply a more direct,overall,fast method for the study of Rhizoma Paridis's quality criteria and to provide the first experimental data for the collection and protection of the resources of medicinal plants in conservation zone of Sichuan province. Compare the samples by their coefficient correlation ,peak form and peak position of their IR fingerprints,the result showed that there was a great difference in the quality of Rhizoma Paridis. And there were four fluorescence peaks in the fluorscence spectras fingerprints of the samples from market: Ex280nm/Em330nm,Ex280nm/Em640nm,Ex230nm/Em340nm and Ex230nm /Em640nm,but there was a great difference between their peak heights;the samples from conservation zone showed another fluorescence peak: Ex400nm/Em680nm,and their peak heights were different too. The direct analysis of TLC fingerprints showed that the number and shade of spots of samples from different habits were not the same. At the same time,the cluster analysis result showed that the quality of samples bought from market were different from their origin and their species were in a mess,but the quality of samples from conservation zone was the same with the actual condition.And the result showed that the quality of Rhizoma Paridis is complicated in the market. And these three methods were conspicuous, convenient and easy. So they can be used as the quality control method of Rhizoma Paridis.
