Objective: To explore the effect of Kindey-Tonifying Blood-Quickening Formula(KTBQF) on Vascular endothelial growth factor mRNA expression on polycystic ovary model of rats.And give help for clinical therapy of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods: 60 SD female rats of 24 days age were choosed as research object, and were divided into high dosage group of KTBQH (12 cases), low dosage group of KTBQH (12 cases),model group(12 cases) and western medicine group(12 cases)and normal control group (12 cases) at random. In contrast with Chloramiphene,we investigated the effects of KTBQH on VEGFmRNA of polycystic ovary model of rats.Result: VEGFmRNA in polycystic ovary of rats is over-expressed in theca cells and the interstitial tissue,and granlose cells. Compared to the model group,Increased expression of VEGFmRNA has been described in the model group both in the expressive area and in the intensity (p<0.01). Compared to the model group, VEGFmRNA levels in high dosage group of KTBQH , low dosage group of KTBQH are obviously weaker(p<0.01), and high dosage group of KTBQH is superior to low dosage group. KTBQH significantly could decrease the expression of VEGFmRNA in the ovary of PCO rats and favor the growth the follicle and ovulation.Conclusion: All above suggested that VEGF is necessary for nomal ovarian function,mediating angiogenesis and vascular permeability.VEGF maybe involved in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome. Kidney-dificiencyand blood stasis are important Chinese factor of PCOS.KTBQHF based on the role of invigorating the kindney and activating blood by affecting the expression of the VEGFmRNA in ovary improves the growth of follicle thus achieving the purpose of promoting the ovulation,which indicates that the treatment of Tradiontional Chinese medicine tonifying kindney and activating blood on PCOS truly has theory basis of molecule standard.
