The Study Of Leech On Regeneration Of Sciatic Nerve Injury On Rats

Purpose:Peripheral nerve injury is a kind of common disease, which belongs to Meridian injury or flaccidity-syndrome in Traditional Chinese Medicine field,serious influence patient's quality of life. Traditional Chinese Medicine can function on peripheral nerve,which is a hotspot researched by investigator.Traditional Chinese Medicine can promote the regeneration of Peripheral nerve,which is accepted by investigators.But the research formerly,mainly concentrates in the plant class medicine research,has neglected to study insect medicine. Owing to this,the research with rebirth ability be research insect medicine of basis,the utilization modern pharmacology research achievement,under the comprehensive consideration principle of reatment's premise seeks having the strong rebirth ability also having the strong blood circulation removing extravasted blood function insect class medicine-leech to conduct the research,observes it to the peripheral nerve regeneration function. The modern pharmacology research thought that the leech has the strong improvement microcycle function,has certain therapeutic action to central nervous system's harm. Accordingly,the animal experiment was designed to study the eeffct of leech medieated bath on the peripheral nerve regeneration function.Methods:In this experiment,sixty male clean Sprague-Dawley rats were used and divided into leech medieated bath group and control randomly.An injury of the right sciatic nerve under 0.5cm of musculus piriformis was made by Specially made non-tooth artery forceps clampping sciatic nerve stem and administered respectively with leech solution and normal saline every day after surgery since 3 days after operation. Having been treated for 2,4,8 weeks,their Sciatic Nerve Function Index,sciatic nerve conduct velocity,tricipital muscle wet weight,histomorphological indexes and observation of ultrastructure with the transmission election microscope were checked and compared with each other.Result:The results show that all the indexes in the leech group was significantly prior to the control group.And the results also indicate that leech medieated bath may effectively promote the functional recovery of peripheral nerve injury and deserve the further research.
