Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of real-time three-dimensional (3D)ultrasonography for gallbladder diseases. Methods One hundred and five patients with the gallbladder disease were examinedby two-dimensional (2D) and real-time three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound. Thetwo-dimensional and real-time three-dimensional ultrasonic imagings were contrastedand analyzed by two practiced ultrasonic doctors on five aspects includingdistinctness ,contrast ,stereo feeling, integrity, the relation with peripheral tissues. Theimage effects were analyzed by the statistical method (Pearson chi-square test of thefourfold table) to get the difference of them. Results The location ,numbers ,extent ,appearance ,and the relation with peripheraltissues of the gallbladder disease can be displayed by real-time three-dimensionalultrasonography more quickly and directly. There is a significant difference betweentwo-dimensional and real-time three-dimensional ultrasonography (P=0.028 < 0.05) ,and the imaging effect of real-time three-dimensional ultrasonography is better thantwo-dimensional ultrasonography. Conclusion Real-time three-dimensional ultrasonic imaging can provide moreinformation of the gallbladder disease for the clinical diagnosis and treatment.Real-time three-dimensional ultrasonography must rest on two-dimensionalultrasonography ,and provide the beneficial supplement to two-dimensionalultrasonography. Real-time three-dimensional ultrasonography has more applied valueand potentiality in many medical fields.
