Objective:To study the expressions and significance of XIAP and its antagonized proteins in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma(NPC) Tissues.Methods:The expression of XIAP and its antagonized proteins in Tissue Microarray were detected by S-P immunohistochemical method and Tissue Microarray technique in 50 cases with NPC tissue Paraffin specimen and 20 cases with nasopharyngeal chronic inflammation tissue Paraffin specimen.Results:①The positive rate of XIAP,Smac/DIABLO and XAF1 was respectively 68%,32%and 22%,the positive cases of the three factors were respectively 26,11 and 9,and the strong positive cases of the three factors were respectively 8,5 and 2 in 50 cases with NPC tissue Paraffin specimen.The expression of XIAP in cases with nasopharyngeal chronic inflammation tissue Paraffin specimen was negative,and in which the cases with positive expression of Smac/DIABLO and XAF1 were respectively 12 and 13,the cases with strong positive expression were respectively 1 and 4 by the same time that the positive rate of these two factors was respectively 65%and 85%.The positive expressions of XIAP,Smac/DIABLO and XAF1 were significantly more in NPC tissue Paraffin specimen than in nasopharyngeal chronic inflammation tissue Paraffin specimen(P<0.05).②The positive expression of Smac/DIABL0 and XAF1 were both lower in NPC tissue Paraffin specimen in which the expression of XIAP was positive than that was negative.The expressions of XIAP and Smac/DIABLO,XIAP and XAF1 were both significantly negative correlation(r Smac/DIABLO=-0.46,PSmac/DIABLO<0.05;rXAF1=-0.30,PXAF1<0.05).Conclusion:①The positive expression of XIAP in NPC were significantly higher than those in the nasopharyngeal chronic inflammation tissue.XIAP was closely related with the occurrence of NPC and it probably play a role progress in the process of NPC.②The positive expression of Smac/DIABLO and XAF1 in NPC were significantly lower than that in the nasopharyngeal chronic inflammation tissue.The low expression of Smac/DIABLO and XAF1 in NPC probably closely related with the occurrence of NPC,and it may play a role progress in NPC.③The expressions of XIAP and Smac/DIABLO,XAF1 in NPC were significantly negative correlation.XIAP and Smac/DIABLO,XAF 1 might be an important link in the signal pathway of NPC,which were closely associated with occurrence and development of NPC.
