Objective: Through quantitative analysis of immunoglobulin heavy chain (IgH) gene rearrangements in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) before and after combined chemotherapy, to investigate the role of IgH gene rearrangements in MM,and the relationship between the prognosis and efficacy with its copy number of rearrangement. Methods: By using real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR method to detect and compare the copy number of IgH gene rearrangement in 15 patients with MM before and after combined chemotherapy . U266 and K562 cells were as positive and negative control. statistical software SPSS11.5 was used for statistical analys. Results: There was significantly different in the copy number changes of IgH gene rearrangement between before and after combinated chemotherapy (P <0.05).Conclusions: The copy number of IgH gene rearrangement after combined chemotherapy was significantly lower than before .It can be used for evaluation of efficacy and prognosis of patients with MM.
