Objective:To implement relevant national occupational health laws, protect the health of labourers and promote economic development, we had investigated and appraised the occupational hazards control effect of the new sintering machine in an Iron and Steel Group.Methods:Using the way of occupational health survey, analysis and evaluation, we found the hazards of occupational diseases in the process of sinter production in the job field.1. Through understand the process of steel sintering plant's production technology, we made sure the potentail occupational hazards of the production process. And we checked up implementing of occupational hazard protection facilities and occupational health management2. According to the national requirements of related norms and standards, we assessed the concentration of occupational hazards and the effect of protection facilities in full production condition.Results:1. occupational hazardsThe major occupational hazards are dust, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, noise, heat and thermal radiationd in the production process and the working environment. So we selectd the dust and noise as the evaluation factors.2. on-site survey resultsThe"sintering plant from the Health Protection Standard" (GB 11662-1989) was must be accorded in location and the total layout. Production technology was mature. The ventilation and dust removal devices were fixed in every workshop. To reduce emissions of sulfur dioxide, the factory used low sulfur fuel. The factory akso established the "Labor Insurance supplies distribution,management system" and "the standard of Labor Insurance supplies distribution". And every worker equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment. The health with the office comply with requirements of the "industrial enterprises to design health standards". The organization of occupational health prevention was established. The "occupational hazards emergency rescue plans" and the program of occupational disease prevention and the implementation were also set down.3. test resultsOverrun rate of dust fixed-point was 34.15%. Overrun rate of dust personal sampling was 80%. Overrun rate of noise was 13.64%. The occupational exposure limits were not exceeded in the result of carbon monoxide, heat and electric field strength.Suggestion:1.Dust prevention:The wet processing facilities must be added. The dust hoods were set in a reasonable location and width to prevent dust bag filter leaked. The fall was appropriately reduced between conveying belt and shaker drop so as to reducing dust. The Dust collector hoods were set a reasonable location. The speeding of the dust collector ports were tested on fixing a date. Removing dust accumulation on floors, walls and dust collector which could prevent secondary dust was also necessary. The inspection time of worker was reasonable arrangements which could reduce the opportunities of contacting with dust. The protective Equipments were offered for workers. dust on the machine to avoid secondary dust; for workers and time to reduce dust opportunities; The workers in the workplace of seriously dust pollution should be dispensed protective Equipment; to the maintenance overhaul of dust removal facilities were enhanced so as to ensuring the normal operation of equipment.2 Noise control:to Some duty room which are not set noise-isolation facilities should transform so that the noise value of these rooms are consistent with national standards. The reasonable measures should be taken to improve the damping properties of vibrating screen so as to reduce noise. The inspection route of workers should reasonable arrangements so as to shorten the residence time in the high noise position and these workers should wear protective earplug. 3. Gas defense:The gas pipes should maintain in regular time to prevent the leaky phenomenon. The concentration of carbon in first layer of sintering machine platform should often test and enhance ventilation; The gas alarm should maintain and update regularly. And the workers should wear every work day.Conclusions:The sintering machine engineering followed the relevant national laws and regulations in the construction process. And the process has been taken the necessary protective measures against occupational diseases and developped a viable occupational health management system.. Detection and analysis by test-run on-site, in addition to dust, noise outside the control effect of occupational hazards in line with " sanitary standard for design of industrial enterprises " (GBZ1-2002), " hazardous factors in the workplace occupational exposure limits, Part 1:Chemically Hazards ous factors"(GBZ2.1-2007) and" hazardous factors in the workplace, occupational exposure limits for Part 2:physical factors "(GBZ2.2-2007) requirements.By analysing of field trials The majority of jobs accorded with the requirements of " sanitary standard for design of industrial enterprises " (GBZ1-2002)," hazardous factors in the workplace occupational exposure limits, Part 1:Chemical Hazards "(GBZ2.1-2007) and" hazardous factors in the workplace, occupational exposure limits for Part 2:physical factors "(GBZ2.2-2007) apart from dust and noise jobs.
