Objective:To analyze the relation between serum uric acid level and urinary albumin excretion in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.Method:276 inpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were divided into normalbuminuria group (n=165),abnormal albuminuria group (including microalbuminuria and macroalbuminuria,n=111) defined as 24h-urinary albumin excretion(24h-UAE) <30.Omg and≥30.0mg respectively.Uric acid,24h-UAE and the other clinical data were analyzed.Results:①The prevalence of abnormal albuminuria was 41.2%(111/276) in the present study. Abnormal albuminuria group showed higher serum uric acid level than nomalbuminuria group(315.01±103.3VS267.49±76.04)umol/L (P<0.01).②Male patients and patients with history of smoke or hypertension showed higher serum uric acid level compared with female patients and those with no history of smoke or hypertension (P<0.05).③The prevalence of abnormal albuminuria for the respective quartiles of uric acid were 31.95%,32.31%,32.43%,66.15% (P<0.01,compared with the other quartiles of uric acid).④Mutiple logistic regression analysis revealed that uric acid was one of the independent risk factors for abnormal albuminuria in type 2 diabetic patients (OR=1.005,95%CI=1.002-1.009, P<0.01).Conclutions:Serum uric acid is an independent risk factor of abnormal albuminuria in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, suggesting that it is an important target in the preventinon and treatment of diabetic nephropathy。...
