1. ObjectiveTo investigate the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors on AIDS and to evaluate the effects of comprehensive intervention with health education and behavioral intervention in voluntary counseling and testing population2. MethodsThe 1016 subjects of voluntary counseling and testing outpatients were enrolled. The information on knowledge, attitudes and behaviors on AIDS were collected with an anonymous questionnaire in baseline and post-intervention. The measures of intervention included AIDS-related health education by face to face, free-distribution of condoms and AIDS associated booklets. The distribution of knowledge, attitudes and behaviors on AIDS were describled and the comparisons were conducted between the data of baseline and post-intervention.3. ResultsThe target population's knowledge about AIDS mainly came from television (73.7%) and Internet (62.1%).28.1% of subjects didn't know the current epidemic situation of AIDS in China, especially the knowledge on the route of transmission and prevention of AIDS. Total awareness rate of knowledge about AIDS was 71.9% before intervention, and it had increased obviously to 80.4% after intervention。Health education changed only part of the attitudes and behavior in the target population.17.7% of the population didn't obtain AIDS knowledge initiatively, the effect of intervention to them was not obvious; the number of population who had positive attitude on worrying about themselves whether would be infected with AIDS was 519(58.2%) and 541(60.7%), respectively before and after intervention. Intervention did not make obvious effect. The proportion of population was 8.3% who would revenge to society if they knew themselves to infect with AIDS. However, there was no significant difference between before and after intervention.62.9% of the subject could not accept to live with persons affected AIDS or AIDS patients. All subjects who received health education and behavioral intervention in the voluntary counseling and testing outpatients wanted to know if they had infected with AIDS or not,and would conducted HIV antibody testing. There are multiple high-risk sexual behaviors in the subjects of HIV infected MSM. 81.4% of MSM had the high-risk behaviors more than one,87.4% of them had anal-sexual behavior within half a year,57.8% of them had more sexual partners, The rate of condom use when having sexual behaviors was 34.1%.65.6% of MSM had sex activity with both men and women besides their wives..29.8% female sexual workers did not use condom after the comprehensive intervention. The reseason of non-use condom was mainly from whoremaster.43.3% of the female sexual workers did not use condom when having the last sexual behavior with customers and the reseason was that their customers were reluctant to use it.4 ConclusionThe comprehensive interference measures can effectively improve the awareness of AIDS in the voluntary counseling and testing population, and change their attitude, behaviors and life styles. Comprehensive interference on the population should be conducted for a long time.
