Objective:To analyze the relationship between innate immunity factor and hepatitis B virus intrauterine infection by measuring the level of MBL and Elafin.Methods:37 HBsAg-positive mothers and their newborn infants from Oct 2007 to Jul 2009 at the Women's Hospital of Zhejiang University were recruited to the study.According to the status whether or not newborn infants were infected HBV at birth, we divided the infants into two groups:GroupⅠ:Non-HBV intrauterine infection group, a total of 30 cases. GroupⅡ:HBV intrauterine infection group, a total of 7 cases. The control group included 30 cases of normal pregnant women. The serum HBsAg, HBeAg in maternal and neonatal peripheral blood were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Pregnant women and neonatal peripheral blood serum HBV DNA were measured by PCR assay. The concentrations of MBL and Elafin in maternal peripheral blood and neonatal cord blood were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results:1,The levels of MBL in neonates of groupⅠ(Non-HBV intrauterine infection group) were significantly higher than those of groupⅡ(HBV intrauterine infection group)and control group(P<0.01), but no evident difference between groupⅡand the control group(P>0.05).2,The levels of Elafin in neonates of control group were significantly higher than group I and groupⅡ(P<0.05). Although the levels of Elafin in neonates of Non-HBV intrauterine infection group were higher than that of HBV intrauterine infection group, but no statistical difference was found between the two groups (P>0.05).3,No significant difference of MBL and Elafin levels of pregnant women were found among three groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:1,The levels of MBL in neonates of Non-HBV intrauterine infection group were significantly higher than that of HBV intrauterine infection group. The levels of MBL in fetus may affect mother to fetal transmission of HBV, high levels of MBL would be helpful to clear HBV.2,The correlation of fetus HBV intrauterine infection with Elafin levels should be confirmed by further study with more samples.
