Objective:To improve the understanding of influenza A H1N1 virus and explore the diagnosis and therapy to the critical cases.Methods:Review five critical cases of influenza A H1N1, including the laboratory examination, clinical and radiological manifestations and management strategies.Results:In five cases, the detection of influenza A H1N1 virus of the swabs of throat were positive and all patients developed respiratory failure. In intensive care unit (ICU), oseltamivir, corticosteroid treatment and supportive treatment were given, finally 2 patients died.Conclusion:Influenza A H1N1 should early diagnosis and early treatment. Prognosis of the critical cases is unfavorable.
