Objective:Explore the pathogenesis of vulnerable carotid atherosclerotic plaques causing ICA-TIA and the therapy of vulnerable plaques. Methods:First, we let one patient with vulnerable carotid atheros-clerotic plaques suffer some examination items, whose right upper limb recurrent numbness. The items included ECG Echocardiography Carotid artery ultrasound ICA-CTA Cerebral-MRI Cerebral-MRA and DSA. Second, we reviewed some related documents and then concluded that it is the vulnerable carotid atherosclerotic plaques that cause the TIA. Third, according to the etiology and pathogenesis, we treated him with anti-platelet agents as well as other related agents. We followed-up him. The carotid atherosclerotic plaques were verified by the pathological examination results later. Results:This patient's ICA-TIA symptoms are resulted from vulnerable carotid atherosclerotic plaques. They can be stopped by anti-platelet agents.Conclusions:1.This patient's ICA-TIA symptoms are resulted from vulnerable carotid atherosclerotic plaques.2. The pathogenesis of this kind of ICA-TIA is considered to be microembolic theory.3. The anti-platelet therapy based on comprehensive treatment is effective to such a TIA.
