Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of time-of-flight (TOF)MRA with 3.0 Tesla scanner in intracranial artery stenosis. Methods Thirty seven patients including 21 male and 16 female clinically suspected intracranial artery stenosis underwent both 3.OT TOF MRA and intra-arterial digital subtract angiography (DSA)examination. The average age of these patients is 53.5±13.5 ( 37~79 ). All image data were prospectively interpreted by two experienced neuroradiologists. Some consensus will be made after discussion if any differences exist. Based on the results of DSA,we evaluated the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of 3.OT TOF-MRA in diagnosing the intracranial artery stenosis. Results 402 arteries were diagnosed consistency among 407 arteries after MRA and DSA examination. With DSA as a golden standard, the sensitivity, specificify ,positive and negative predictive value of MRA in deteating over 70% intracranial artery stenosis were 100% ,99.7%, 92.7%,100% respectively. Conclusion There is high relativity between 3T-TOF-MRA and DSA in diagnosing the intracranial artery stenosis. 3T-TOF-MRA can be regard as a reliable and non-invasive diagnostic imaging method, thus its results could provide futher therapeutic evidence.
