Objective: To investigate a more simple and effective method to repair skin benign lesions by tissue expansion. Methods: The dilator was implanted into the subcutaneous pocket under the skin benign lesion such as melanocytic nevus and nevus sebaceous. Then doctors injected the normal saline into the dilator regularly. After finished injection, the dilator was taken out and the wound surface of the skin benign lesion was removed. The expanded skin flap was advanced to cover the defects. Results: The dilatation was achieved successfully, followed by skin benign lesions removing and repair. The incision scar was not noticeable. Conclusions: Tissue expansion under the skin benign lesions has the advantages of safety, less trauma and less extra incision. It is a reasonable choice to obtain more flexible surgical designs and more economical skin flap applications. It is suitable for the treatment for skin benign lesions.
