Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic efficacies of preserving fertility treatment in patients with early cervical cancer.Methods:Five patients with early cervical cancer treated by abdominal radical trachelectomy were analyzed retrospectively.Results:There were six patients who met the indications, the median age of whom was 29 years(range 26 to 33 years).Four were nulligravida and 2 multipara, All patients had a desire to maintain fertility. For clinical stage, all were stage I b1 and squamous cell carcinoma. Except for a case found positive surgical margin who abandoned to preserve fertility, the rest patients were treated by abdominal radical trachelectomy. Mean operative time was 210min,and mean blood loss was 480ml. There were no intraoperative complication, but one of the five cases.subsequently treated by hysterectomy because of risk factors. With mean follow-up time of 58.5 months, no one had recurrence, one patient became pregnant and finally premature a 20+weeks baby, and amenorrhea occurred in one patient, while one patient recrived follow-up surgery because of cercical adhesions within the mouth.Conclusions:It is possible to preserve fertility in the treatment of patients with early cervical cancer, but treatment indication should be considered carefully1 The management of complications should be investigated extensively,and assisted conception follwing VRT helps with a good pregnancy should be taken seriously..
