PurposeTo investigate the expression of transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1) and insulin-like growth factor-Ⅱ(IGF-Ⅱ) in different liver tumor and their relationship with the tumor Microvascular Density.Methods60 cases with HCC of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from 2005 to 2009, the expression of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱin different liver tumor specimens was examined. Compared with the specimens of 11 cases with AAH,11 cases with FNH, 11 cases with the normal liver of the hepatic haemangioma edge. The expression of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱlevels and the relationship with the tumor Microvascular Density were analyzed.ResultsThe positive expression rate of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱin HCC was higher than in the FNH and AAH group and the normal liver tissue, it was significantly higher than in Non-hepatic carcinoma,(P< 0.05). And the expression rate of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱin AAH group was higher than the FNH and normal liver tissue, it was significantly different among them, (P< 0.05). The expression rate between FNH group and normal liver tissue was no significantly different,(P> 0.05). The expression of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱin hepatocellular carcinoma was positive correlation with cancer differentiation degree. The same expression tendency in hepatocellular carcinoma of MVD was significantly higher than other groups, (P< 0.05). The expression level of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱin different tissue was Positive correlated (Correlation Coefficient r=0.466, P<0.05). The expression of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱwas significantly positive correlation with MVD (Correlation Coefficient r= 0.643 and r= 0.568). There was no significantly difference with MVD mean between hepatoma and AAH, but there was significantly difference with AAH and FNH.ConclusionsThese results indicate that the expression of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱwas correlated with differentiating degree of tumor. Furthermore, they have correlations in this progress. As results, the expression of TGF-β1 and IGF-Ⅱin the liver tumor related with the formation of tumor microvasculature and may promotes the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
