ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of BUB1B mRNA in laryngeal carcinoma and to evaluate the clinical significance in the laryngeal carcinoma's generation and development.Material and MethodsLaryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues were taken during operation from 30 patients without previous chemotherapy, radiotherapy or remote organ metastasis. Using RT-PCR method to examine the expression of BUB1B mRNA in 30 cases of LSCC tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues, while taking p-actin as reference.ResultsThe expression of BUB1B were intesigated in all the 30 cases of both LSCC tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues. The BUB1B/β-actin of optical density value in LSCC tissues is 0.215±0.076, and in the normal tissues is 0.317±0.128, t=4.521, (P<0.05) The expression of BUB1B mRNA in the LSCC tissues is lower than it in the normal tissues. There's difference of BUB1B mRNA expression in different clinical stages (P<0.05). And the differences of BUB1B mRNA expression isn't exist in different clinical typing, differentiation and cervical lymph node metastasis (P>0.05).conclusionThe results show s that the expression of BUB1B mRNA in LSCC tissues is lower than that in paired adjacent normal tissues. And the its lower expression maybe played a important role in the generation and development in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
