Objective:To compare the effects of total hip arthroplasty and hemiarthroplasty of femoral neck fractures in treatment. Methods:Retrospective analysis of our hospital from January 2005 to December 2007 admitted 60 patients with femoral neck fractures,24 males and 36 females, mean age 74.3 years, which used 42 cases of total hip replacement, hemiarthroplasty 18 cases. All patients were used in artificial joint replacement with the lateral approach. To Harris score and Barthel index score function as a standard to compare the efficacy of patients.Results:60 patients were followed up for 3-5 years. Tthe Barthel index score and Harris score were significantly higher than before surgery. Limb function and quality of life are very good.and the patients could meet basic daily needs. Good rate of total hip arthroplasty group was 86.3% according to Harris scoring standard, good rate of semi-hip group was 77.9.The differences was significant. By Barthel index score, total hip arthroplasty group was 95.3% excellent, semi-hip group was 67.4% excellent, differences was very significant. Conclusion:Both Artificial joint replacement is the preferred treatment method of femoral neck fracture Not only can the method reduce the time in bed and mortality but also improve quality of life. The effective of total hip arthroplasty is better than hemiarthroplasty...
