Objective:Comparison the difference of recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor (rhPDGF-BB) and conventional ways of dressing changes on chronic diabetic foot ulcerMethod:The group of 51 patients were selected from our hospital from October 2009 to March 2010 whom were treated with diabetic foot ulcers according to the WHO diagnostic criteria. The 40 patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The two groups were used for topical on the basis of the systemic treatment (including control of blood sugar, infection control, improve lower extremity circulation, nutritional support, and other symptomatic treatment, etc.)①0.5%povidone-iodine disinfection of the skin around the wound to keep the wound around a relatively sterile environment.②1‰bromogeramine disinfect the ulcer and removal of necrotic tissue and the hard crust, exposing the fresh granulation tissue as the case may be.③The observation group:with a sterile cotton swab rhPDGF-BB gel applied evenly to all the ulcer surface to form a uniform thin layer gel(such as coin thickness of about 2mm),and covered with dry gauze. The control group:ulcers were covered with gentamicin gauze, and then dry gauze. Two groups of patients's wound area was measured respectively with a 0.5cm×0.5cm of the transparency of graph paper at 1-6 weeks after treatment, and the wound closed by the following formula index:(1-treated wound area/original wound area)×100%.All data were indicated with mean±standard deviation (x±s) and analyzed by the statistical software of SPSS 13.0 version. Comparison of two sample mean using t-test. Comparison of two sample used t-test. Test level of a are 0.05.Result:Through statistical calculations, the differences between observation group and control group in wound closure index was significant, and the wound closed in observation group was significantly higher than than the control group. Conclusion:In the strict control of blood sugar and keep the wound clean, topical application of recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor treatment of diabetic foot ulcers is better than the traditional method, can significantly promote the healing of wounds.
