Purpose:Through long time,low-middle intensity aerobic exercise intervention of quantitative power cycling on the patients with type 2 diabetes in Shuguang Hospital affiliated to Shanghai university of TCM, to observe the change of blood glucose, blood-lipid and the body shape index, evaluate the overall effect of aerobic exercise of power cycling in treating and preventing diabetes, explore a practical, feasible, safe and effective plan for the prevention and treatment of diabetes, and provide reference for the recovery of diabetes through exercises.Methods:48 patients with type 2 diabetic diseases, whose blood glucoses, blood-lipids and the body shape indices were examined before the study begins. The subjects were evaluated according to the inspection results, and given an exercise prescription, followed by 14 weeks exercise intervention. All the selected subjects, their food and medicaments were not given extra intervention measures, and none of them had the history of regular physical exercise. Through the feedback of the club activities, telephone and follow-up visit, adjusted the exercise prescription and guided patients to exercise. After the experiment, all the patients were given a test of blood glucose, blood-lipid and the body shape index. The changes of the indices before and after the experiment were compared. All the data was processed by SAS6.12 software package.Results:(1) After 14 weeks, the patients' glucose value and glycated hemoglobin value declined, and their glycated hemoglobin value changed significantly (P<0.05). (2) After 14 weeks' intervention, the patients' TC,TG,LDL-C declined and HDL-C ascended. There are not significant differences. (3) After 14 weeks' intervention, the patients' body fat, BMI, waistline, hip circumference declined, basal metabolic value ascended. Among them, the body fat and body mass index (BMI) have significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusions:(1) Exercise interventions make patients' glycated hemoglobin value decline significantly. It shows that low-middle intensity aerobic exercise of power cycling can improve glycometabolism and blood sugar control levels. (2) Exercise interventions make diabetes' TG,LDL-C, HDL-C and TC indexes improve in different degrees, as exercise interventions in a relatively short time does not show obvious effect and keeping on long term, low-middle intensity, aerobic exercise of power cycling can improve diabetes' blood-lipid metabolic better and more effectively prevent the occurrence and development of cardiovascular disease.(3) Exercise interventions make diabetes' body fat and BMI decline significantly, and make waistline, hip circumference and basal metabolism improve. It takes a positive role in improving diabetes' body fat, body mass index (BMI), waist, hip and other risk factors. (4) It is easy to use this simple power cycling in family and community for exercising. Adopting this kind of exercise to prevent and treat diabetes is safe, efficient, reliable and easy to promote.Suggestion:Clinical physicians should enhance cooperation with sport and rehabilitation professionals, give guidance to diabetic patients after they are diagnosed, strengthen diabetes' self management and information feedback in community, establish health records, let patients adopt reasonable and scientific exercise under evaluation and guidance, improve the prevention and treatment level to diabetes of community.
