PURPOSE To detect melanoma antigen(MAGE)-A1/A3 expression in glioma, in order to lay the foundation of gliomas immunotherapy.METHODS To detect expression of MAGE-A1/A3 in 50 of Glioma cases and 10 cases of Meningeoma by Immunohistochemistry, deal with the results using SPSS13.0 statistic analysis software and analysis correlation of both expression and clinical pathological features of tumors.RESULTS (1) The expression rates in glioma of MAGE-A1/A3 were 54.0% and 56.0% separately, there is a certain correlation between the MAGE-A1 and A3(P <0.05);(2)?MAGE-A1/A3 expression rate is 40% at the same time;(3)The expression of MAGE-A1/ A3 in the glioma have no correlation with sex, age, tumor location(P> 0.05), while the pathological grade of glioma was correlated(P <0.05). CONCLUSION MAGE-A1/A3 protein highly expressed in glioma and associated with pathological changes, MAGE would be expected as a target antigen in glioma immunotherapy.
