Purpose To evaluate the diagnostic value of susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) for soft tissue cavernous hemangioma(STCH).Materials and Methods 19 case confirmed soft tissue Cavernous hemangioma the extremities by clinic and pathology were performed with MRI conventional sequences including T1WI T2WI and SWI. in this work.All case were donfirmed by poeration and pathology.Results Results Of the 19 case,3 case were micronodular, in MRI conventional sequences T1WI STCH display as equisignal, high signal intensity, in T2WI as high signal intensity.12 case were cavernous clumps, there were eight cases in intramuscular and two case in rarefaction tissue. In MRI conventional sequences T1WI STCH display as equisignal, high signal intensity,7 case in T2WI as equisignal, high signal intensity and 5 case were high, mixed signal intensity, in T2WI fat saturation as high signal intensity. The four pampiniform clumps were all located in rarefaction tissue,which appeared tortuous dilation blood vessel without vascular flow void phenomenon. In SWI lesions 3 case of micronodular were displayed high signal intensity.2 case of cavernous clumps ang lcase of pampiniform clumps were displayed high signal intensity, other of them and three case of all located in rarefaction tissue as low and high mixed signal intensity. There were no significant differences between SWI and conventional sequences in displaying The STCT widespread (P>0.01). In mIP,3case of micronodular ang 6 case of clumps cavernous were difined as minimum flow.6 case of cavernous clumps and other were difined as high flow capacity. There were 13 calcification were detectied in 7 cases of tumor. Calcium within the STCH appeared mainly in signal hypointense signal intensity surrounded by hyperintense signal ring on phase image on 17 case, while blood product appeared conversely on 11 case. There were significant differences between SWI and conventional(T2WI) sequences in displaying small vessels and calcium or blood products (P<0.05).Conclusion SWI sequence can reflect component of soft tissue angiocavernoma of the extremities,and can provide more information than MRI conventional sequences.
