Purpose: The thesis inductively calculated various diseases treated by clinical massage and summarized the scientific and comprehensive clinical disease spectrum of Chinese modern massage so that fix the clinical application for massage therapy, which retrospectively carried on an investigation into clinical documents of Chinese modern massage.Methods: The thesis, by employing the research method of bibliometrics, analyzed and generalized symptoms reported by following-up papers of clinical massage which was included in the document database of Chinese biomedicine during the year of 1979 to 2008 as well as calculated the number of papers reporting symptoms and finally summarized the clinical spectrum of modern massage on the basis of doing before.Result: The thesis has got 13 categories( including 516 types) of disease spectrum of clinical massage in total, which included 292 types of Western disease, 99 types of Western symptoms and 94 types of Chinese medicine diseases as well as 31 types of preventive health care and cosmetology.Conclusion: Chinese massage therapy which is easily acceptable by people has very extensive applications and strong development potential as well as it is worthy to be promoted and applied in clinical practice.
