Objective To observe the efficacy of growth hormone(GH) co-treatment Gn in poor responders undergoing IVF-ET.Methods To analyse all the ovaries low response patients treated by IVF/ICSI from March 2010 to Dec 2010 in our center,80cases randomly divided into two groups:GH group of 40 patients were given GH along with Gn daily until the HCG administration day.Control group of 40 patients received the same treatment protocol except the GH co-treatmen, to observe its hormonal level and endometrial thickness on HCG administration day, catching spawn number and Mâ…¡ova, fertile rate, the number of perfect embryos, the implantation rate,pregnant rate,to compare the difference of serum IGF-1, IGFBP-3 concentrations by ELISA between these 2 groups.Results 1.The using time of gonnadotrophin and amount of gonnadotrophin which GH group compared with control group had no statistical significance(P>0.05);the dose of GnRH-a had no statistical significance (P=0.254>0.05), too. 2. The LH,E2,Prog level on HCG administration day,compared GH group with control group,had no statistical significance(P>0.05) and endometrial thickness had no statistical significance(P>0.05).3. The number of oocytes retrieved, number of Mâ…¡oocytes,cleavage, number of embryos available of GH group increased without statistical significance (P> 0.05).The implantation rate,fertile rate,pregnant rate were significantly higher in GH group than in control group(P<0.05).4.2groups was compared with the serum IGF-1 level and the serum IGFBP-3 level:the serum IGFBP-3 level and the serum IGFBP-3 level of 2 groups did not bring down or change with using GnRH-a to down-regulation.The serum IGF-1 levelon HCG administration day higher in GH group than in control group(P<0.05),the serum IGFBP-3 level had no statistical significance(P> 0.05)Conclusions GH co-treatment in poor responders could improve the outcome of IVF-ET,which may improve the implantation rate, fertile rate and pregnant rate, elevated IGF-1 level in serum on HCG administration day, which imply that GH may improve the quality of oocytes related to the elevated IGF-1 level.
