Objective:To investigate the expression of platelet-derived growth factor-A (PDGF-A) in eutopic and ectopic endometrial tissues of adenomyosis and the relationship with dysmenorrheal and the effect of mifepristone for its expression. Methods:Tissue microarrays and immunohistochemistry methods were employed to study the expression of PDGF-A in 83 cases of adenomyosis specimens and 24 cases of CINIII (normal endometrium) specimens, study on the significance of expression of PGDF-A. All data were processed by SPSS version 17.0 analysis software.Results:1. The expression of PDGF-A was significantly higher in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis than normal endometrium (P< 0.05).2. The expression of PDGF-A has no statistic significance between eutopic and ectopic endometrium in the same patient of adenomyosis (P>0.05).3. After mifepristone intervention, the expression of PDGF-A are lower in adenomyosis.4. The expression of PDGF-A was correlated with dysmenorrheal (χ2= 4.415, P<0.05, rs 0.244)Conclusion:1. PDGF-A are closely related to the pathopoiesis of human adenomyosis2. Mifepristone may be falling tone PDGF-A in both eutopic and ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis3. The expression of PDGF-A was correlated with dysmenorrheal.
