[Objectives]It was a trial of point press targeted to valuate the effect of movement function, and depression for stroke patients with hemiplegia, exploring an early nursing measures with traditional Chinese medical (TCM) characteristic for stroke patients with hemiplegia.[Methods]This study used convenience sampling method and selected 60 stroke patients with hemiplegia as the research object, who were divided into point press group and control group randomly according to hospital time, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in point press group practiced point press intervention on the basis of routine ward nursing; While the patients in control group only received routine ward nursing, and didn't practice point press intervention. The period of intervention time was two weeks. Before and after two-week intervention, the patients in point press group were assessed on movement function with Motor assessment scale (MAS) and depression with Self-rating depression seale (SDS); The patients in control group also were evaluated in corresponding time on above same projects. After two-week intervention, the patients patients in point press group were evaluated how to be pleased with accepting to improve or relieve stroke symptoms and promote recovery of limb function. Research tools were Case general information questionnaires, Acceptance degree and experience to point press questionnaire etc. All the date were analyzed by the SPSS 13.0.[Results]1. In terms of movement function, point press group got significantlly higher MAS scores after two-week intervention than before intervention(<0.05); Control group's MAS scores in the two corresponding time points had risen(P<0.05). The difference of two MAS scores before and after intervention in point press group, comparing with the difference of two MAS scores in the corresponding time in control group, had statistically significant(P<0.05).2. In terms of depression, the detection rate of depression in 60 stroke patients with hemiplegia was 76.67%. Among them,14 patients were in mild depression (23.3%),21 patients were in moderate depression patients (35.0%), and 11 patients were in severe depression(18.3%). After two-week intervention, point press group got significantly lower SDS scores than before intervention(P<0.05); The difference on SDS scores in two corresponding time of control group was not significant(P>0.05). The difference of two SDS scores before and after intervention in point press group, comparing with the difference of two SDS scores in the corresponding time in control group, had statistically significant(P<0.05).3. For 30 stroke patients with hemiplegia in point press group to the acceptance to attack point press,70.0% patients chose "willing to" acceptance, and 23.3% "willing to". Application point press methods to stroke patients with hemiplegia had high acceptance for improving stroke symptoms and promoting limb function recovered.[Conclusions]This study shows that movement dysfunction degree of patients with hemiplegia is serious; The detection rate of depression in stroke patients with hemiplegia is high; Early application point press methods for stroke patients with hemiplegia can improve movement function and relieve depression; Application point press to improve stroke symptoms and promote recovery of limb function has high acceptance.
