[Objective] In order to find out an efficient treatment for anal fistula wound, moist healing dressings supplemented with Mesalt, alginate and hydrocolloid was compared with the traditional dressing in this study.[Methods] 60 patients with completed clinical and pathological data in our hospital were used as observed cases from September 2008 to March 2011, who were suffering from anal fistula and underwent neoplasty. According to convenience sampling method, 30 patients of them as the control group, were treated with vaseline gauze dressing, the other 30 patients as the experimental group, were treated with mesalt dressing in the exudation stage of wound, treated with alginate dressing in granulation stage to reduce exudation, treated with hydrocolloid dressing in the stage of epithelial crawling. The pain extent, amount of wound exudation, wound healing and length of patient stay were recorded and analyzed by statistical methods SPSS 13.0, P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.[Results] 60 patients were all healed. There were significantly difference in pain extent, amount of wound exudation, wound healing and length of patient stay between the experimental group and control group. Moist healing dressings supplemented with Mesalt, alginate and hydrocolloid could relieve the pain, reduce the wound exudation, promote the wound healing and shorten the length of patient stay.[Conclusions] Compared to the traditional application of vaseline in anal fistula wound, application of moist healing wound dressings in the treatment shows advantage in pain extent, amount of wound exudation, Wound healing and length of patient stay, which should be applied general in clinical therapy.
