Objective: To explore the relationship between deficiency syndrome of the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and objective indexes together with the distribution rules of the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome in chronic nephritis, to approach the possible mechanisms and the relationship with traditional Chinese medicine syndrome. Methods:According to the standard classification of chronic nephritis deficiency syndrome in the "traditional Chinese medicine (drugs) Guidelines for clinical research" by the Ministry of Health formulated and released in 1993,129 patients with chronic nephritis patients,60 male cases,69 female cases, age from 14 to 81 years old, mean age 42.99 years old, including 29 cases of lung and kidney qi deficiency,35 cases of spleen deficiency syndrome,37 cases of liver and kidney cards and 28 cases of Qi Deficiency. The visible components were assayed in urine by AVE-763 automatic urine sediment analyzer, serum CysC was determined by latex particle enhanced immunoturbidimetric assay, creatinine, urea, triglycerides and cholesterol were tested by enzymic method. Results: In 129 patients with chronic nephritis deficiency syndrome, the average age of cases of lung and kidney qi deficiency were 43.15±12.65 years old, spleen and kidney yang were 48.15±11.78, liver and kidney mean age were 44.17±12.97, Qi yin liang xu were 34.81±14.23 years, there were significant difference among various types (P<0.05); the distribution of urine sediments in urine did not meet the normal distribution, In lung and kidney qi deficiency, spleen deficiency syndrome, liver and kidney cards, both Qi and Yin Deficiency, the median of white blood cells results in urine were: 6.65/μl,10/μl,4.15/μl, 3.05/μl; In lung and kidney qi deficiency, spleen deficiency syndrome, liver and kidney cards and Qi Deficiency, the median of RBC in urine were:12.5/μl,14.0/μl,12.0/μl,37.7/μl. There were significant difference in various types of chronic nephritis with results of serum creatinine, urea, creatinine, cystatin C, triglyceride, complement 3, hemoglobin, fibrinogen, albumin and 24h urinary protein (P<0.05), no significant difference with blood cholesterol, complement 4 and WBC (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. The study shows that there was no difference of gender distribution in the types of syndrome. On the age distribution, the spleen and kidney yang> liver and kidney> lung and kidney Qi> Qi and Yin Deficiency.2. The study shows that the urinary red blood cells of cases with Qi and Yin Deficiency Syndrome increased significantly. Urinary white blood cells and casts had no difference among various types.3. In this study, the results of 24h urine protein were significantly different among the types of chronic nephritis traditional Chinese medicine syndrome (P<0.05),24h urine protein in which of spleen and kidney yang was highest, lowest is Qi and Yin Deficiency. There was negative correlation between the amount of albumin and 24h urine protein content in the various syndromes: Qi and Yin Deficiency Syndrome/liver and kidney> lung and kidney qi> spleen and kidney yang.4. This study shows that renal function indexes of spleen deficiency syndrome compared with other syndromes have a significantly difference, it was significantly increased. Because serum creatinine, urea and uric acid affected by many factors, so, in the type of chronic nephritis, cystatin C is the preferred assessment as a type of kidney function and reliable indicator of Chinese medicine syndrome.5. In the study, blood triglycerides volume of among various types were: the lung and kidney qi deficiency>liver and kidney> spleen and kidney yang/Qi and Yin Deficiency. The cholesterol was no difference among the various types. It was not consistent with previous studies, which may influence many factors of hyperlipidemia and a small number of related specimens.6. This study shows that The amount of hemoglobin was significantly lower in spleen deficiency syndrome of chronic nephritis cases. Between the number of hemoglobin content in blood and red blood cells in urine in patients were no correlation. Fibrinogen as the spleen and kidney yang> liver and kidney> lung and kidney Qi> Qi and Yin Deficiency. Among various types, white blood cell count was no different.7. Chronic nephritis is autoimmune disease. This study shows, C3 levels as liver and kidney> lung and kidney qi> Qiyinliangxu> spleen and kidney yang. C4 levels in the various syndromes was no significant difference.
