Objective:To investigate the predictive value of multivoxel proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in evaluating the metabolic changes in perienhancement area of the high grade of glioma. Methods 35 patients with surgical biopsy were examed by MR superconducting scanner. Examing sequences contained conventional MRI scans and enhancemen in the areas of enhanced tumor tissue, high signal area on T2WI and corresponding contralateral normal area to be areas of interest in hydrogen proton spectroscopy scanning, high signal area on T2WI and corresponding contralateral normal area. Voxels were taken from enhanced, solid part of the tumor, and those regions were evaluated in every patients. Fitted areas in the spectrum for N-acetylaspartate (NAA), choline (Cho), creatine (Cr).The data contains major metabolites which are NAA, Cho, Cr. Then Cho/Cr, NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr were calculated. Result:the Cho/Cr, NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr values of strengthened were 3.1811±2.3135,0.4144±0.2818,1.0485±0. 7123;and the Cho/Cr, NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr values of edema area of glioma were 2. 0879±1.592,0.727±0.5272,1.2169±0.7079;The Cho/Cr, NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr values of normal were 0.6332±0.0779,0.8334±0.1026,0.7712±0.094。Cho/Cr, NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr values were not have significant differences (P>0.05) between edema area of glioma and strengthened; Cho/Cr, NAA/Cho, NAA/Cr values were significant differences (P<0.05) between edema area of glioma and corresponding contralateral normal area. Conclusion:Multi-voxel 1H MRS examination has important clinical value in high grade(Ⅲ-Ⅳgrade)of glioma diagnosis and judge the boundary of tumors.
