Objective:By clinical control study of the gastrointestinal anastomosis staplers and biofragmentable anastomosis ring during alimentary reconstruction of radical cystectomy, to explore the techniques and efficacy of gastrointestinal anastomosis staplers during the alimentary reconstruction of radical cystectomyMethods:Ninty four patients underwent the radical cystectomy(Bricker's operation) were divided to two group randomly. Fifty-eight cases underwent intestinal tract side-to-side anastomosis by gastrointestinal anastomosis staplers(GAS), other 38 cases underwent intestinal tract end-to-end anastomosis by biofragmentable anastomosis ring(BAR). The time of intestinal anastomosis, the time to oral intake, incidence of ileus, incidence of anastomotic leaks, and infection incidence of incisional wound were compared. Results:The time of intestinal anastomosis (10.6±2.8 min vs 12.3±3.4min, P<0.01)and the recovery time of intestinal function in GAS group (92.9h±5.7h vs 96.4±6.5h, P< 0.01) was shorter than those in BAR group significantly. No statistical difference in the incidence of ileus and anastomotic leaks, infection incidence of incisional wound was found between two groups. Conclusions:GAS can be operated conveniently, it can shorten the time of intestinal anastomosis and the recovery time of intestinal function during radical cystectomy. The recovery time of intestinal function in GAS group was shorter than those in BAR group significantly, so GAS is recommendable in clinical use.
