Objective:To assess nutritional status and analyze related factors in in hospitalized patients with stage 3-4 chronic kidney disease.Method:Data of 55 patients with chronic kidney disease 3-4 stage hospitalized from December 2009 to October 2010 were collected. The levels of biochemical markers were assayed. The anthropometric measurements and SGA were measured. We analyze effective factors of malnutrition and correlation of different methods. Color Doppler sonographys for measuring the left ventricular function were done in 31 patients. The correlation between left ventricular function and malnutrition was also analyzed.Result:1.Among the 55 patients,21(38.2%) patients were mild-moderate malnourished. 34 (61.8%) patients were normal. None was severe malnourished.2.Compared with normal patients, malnourished patients had poorer kidney function(P=0.027), Gender and diabetes produced no significant effect on malnutrition. Lipid, calcium, phosphorus and PTH had no significant difference between two groups.3.Prealbumin,lymphocyte count,BMI and AC correlate well with SGA. However, Albumin had better correlation with Urine protein rather than SGA.4.Left ventricular function had no significant difference between two groups. Hypertension was the main effective factor. Conclusion:Morbidity of malnutrition in CKD-3,4 stage patients was high and correlated with decreased kidney function. Albumin was not a good index of malnutrition. It was necessary to evaluate nutrition state globally.
