| Objective: evaluation of huanglian jiedu decoction particles on basal insulin combined with metformin in the treatment of early type 2 diabetes mellitus "synergy and attenuation side effects " role for early intervention, reduce and delay complications to provide more effective treatment options. Methods: 60 patients with early-onset T2DM and obesity group randomly divided into treatment groups (30 cases, Joint of huanglian jiedu decoction granules) and control groups (30 cases, Foundation treatment group), observing two groups before and after treatment in patients with oral glucose tolerance test,insulin and c-peptide release test and the insulin dosage of changes situation. Result: the treatment group signifi- cantly reduced insulin dosage than the control group (p<0.05)。The time to reach the target blood sugar, treatment group was shorter than control group(P<0.05). Comparison between the two groups after treatment: treatment group was slightly lower than the control group in HbA1c (P>0.05); OGTT, no significant differences between the two groups 3h after meal(P>0.05), over time the treatment group significantly reduced than the control group (p<0.05); C peptide release test, the treatment group release increased than the control group when the fasting and 1h after the meal (P<0.05),there was no significant difference in the rest time (P>0.05); Insulin release test, the treatment group insulin release signifi- cantly increased than the control group1h after meal(P<0.01),there was no significant difference between the two groups in the rest time(P>0.05); the treatment group reduced significantly than the control group in the insulin resistance and the pancreatic islets B-cell function (P<0.05).There was no adverse effect during clinical trials.Conclusion: Huanglian jiedu decoction granules has significant clinical efficacy in educing insulin resistance, restore the function of pancreatic islet beta cells, better than control groups, and security.
