Traditional metal orthodontics not only has disadvantages such as cleansing and taking off difficulty as well as influencing appearance, but also hardly forecast orthodontic effect in the process of orthodontics. Orthodontic simulation system can effectively for orthodontic process simulation and forecast the result. Based on orthodontic simulation system in the process of planning and preferences, the demand on occlusal analysis and occlusal simulation of related algorithm simulation problem is studied. The main research contents are as follows:According to the problem of fast search a boundary or one-ring neighbors in orthodontic simulation, research a mesh topology reconstruction algorithm which is based on half-edge data structure. This algorithm in search vertices, edges and faces show good advantage and build a research foundation for collision detection and occlusal analysis.According to the problem of collision detection in occlusal simulation, propose a fast collision detection algorithm based on the bounding box. This algorithm can return the intersection triangles in collision models of relevant information, and calculate intersection lines,and show the edge and the shape of the area.According to the problem of interference position and interference depth in occlusal analysis, propose a efficient and strong interference analysis method. Through part the model data into the given conditions and judge the interference area in model by collision detection get information about vertices in interference area. And then, return interference depth of the vertices in area by KNN search. Finally, combining with the jaw occlusal trajectory information extracted by Patriot system and YAMAHACHI correct articulator determine the trajectory constraint.Based on the above researches, realized the jaw virtual occlusal motion simulation, and in the orthodontic simulation system successful application, achieved good effect and the expected goal.
