Objective:To investigate the risk factors of ulcerative colitis and UC-related colon polyp formation.Method:1 105 patients who admitted in our hospital in January 2007 -2009 December diagnosed as ulcerative colitis patients were selected. 147 healthy family members of patients were as control. Factors that gender, age, smoking, psychological stress, drinking history, history of appendectomy, course of disease, schistosomiasis, disease extent, disease severity were analyzed, and the occurrence of such factors associated with ulcerative colitis were studied.2 105 cases of polyps were divided into polyps groups and non-polyp group. The data of gender, age, smoking, psychological stress, drinking history, history of appendectomy, course of disease, hematology laboratory tests, stool laboratory examination, disease severity were collected. The relationship between the above factors and polyps formation in patients with ulcerative colitis were analyzed.Results:1 The risk factors of smoking, psychological stress, history of appendectomy, schistosomiasis between the two groups had significant difference(P <0.05). By multivariate logistic regression analysis, only smoking, psychological stress, schistosomiasis were introduced to the regression equation, according to P <0.10 standard. Smoking history is as protective factors, and the other factors were risk factor.2 The risk factors of age, smoking history, disease course, disease severity between the polyp group and the non-polyp had significant difference (P <0.05). In accordance with P <0.10 standard, sex, age, smoking history, disease course, disease severity was the introduction of the regression equation, other factors were excluded. gender as risk factors in male, age younger as risk factors, smoking history, duration of disease, disease severity were as risk factors for the formation of polyps.Conclusion:1 The smoking history is protective factors for UC. psychological stress, history of schistosomiasis were as risk factors.2 male, younger, smoking history, longer duration, disease severity were as risk factors for the formation of polyps in UC patients.
