Diagnostic Value Of Combined Detection Of Serum AFP,CEA,CA19-9 In Primary Hepatic Carcinoma

Purpose:The primary hepatic carcinoma is a king of tumor which originates from hepatocell or hepatic cholangiocell, it is one kind of the most common cancer in China. Every year 626000 patients get PHC in the world, and about 598000 died of it. The incidence was the 6th in the malignant tumors, and the 3th in the death causation.It harms to the human's health seriously. Detect the AFP is the main method to diagnosis the PHC without the photographic detections. AFP has a high level of sensitivity and specificity to PHC. The positive rate of AFP was only 60%-70%, and it is easy to be effected by other factors.So about 40% of early-phase-patients and 15%-20% of late-phase-patients can be negative. Withing new methods of detedtion and new tumor markers be found continuously, detect the tumor markers combinely was one of the most important methods.This article is to investigate the value of combined detection of serum AFP,CEA and CA19-9 in the diagnosis of primary hepatic carcinoma (PHC).Methods:retrospective analyzing the clinical information of 40 cases of primary hepatic carcinoma and 50 normal contral persons during 2005.7 to 2008.7 in Department of General Surgery, Xiangya Second Hospital,Central South Uninersity. Record and analyse the result of AFP, CEA and CA19-9.Results:The positive rates of AFP,CEA and CA19-9 in cases with PHC were significantly higher than those in normal contral persons. The diagnostic sensitivities of AFP. CEA and CA19-9 for PHC were 67.5%, 27.5% and 50% respectively, The diagnostic sensitivities will rise to 85.0% and 90.0% while combine detect AFP and CEA or CA199. The co-detection rate of AFP. CEA. CA19-9 was 95%. The diagnostic sensitivities of CEA and CA19-9 for PHC were 53.8%.23.1% respectivly to those AFP was negative.Conclusion:The combined detection of AFP. CEA and CA19-9 will he helpful in the diagnosis of PHC.
