ObjectiveTo establish the method of gender estimation and height and age speculation by applying X-ray measurement Data of youth, this can provide medicolegal expertise with new index and methods.MethodsBy random cluster sampling method, the 273 cases of the Stomatology Hospital of Shanxi Medical University were incorporated into the research in August to October 2009, who all is children and adolescent patients. Then they experienced the skull location imaging to acquire the lateral positions' radiographic. The skull imaging measurement questionnaire of teenagers in shanxi provice was designed by ourselves. The skull lateral positions' radiographic were measured through inductors by the postgraduates of orthodontics. The inductors include sexual, birth date, native place, people, height, weight, the measurement time and so on. In addition,15 imaging measurement data are included too, such as SNA angle, SNA angle, ANB angle, NP-FH facial angle, Y axial angle, NA-PA(maxillofacial angle of convexity), MP-FH(mandibular plane angle), SN-MP angle,1-SN angle,1-MP angle,1-NA angle,1-NB angle and 1-T angle,1-NA distance,1-NB distance. Using SPSS 11.5 statistical analysis software to build database, adopting discriminant analysis to establish sexual discriminant formulation, adopting Cross-validated(a) to estimate the discriminant method, and adopting multiple stepwise to establish the formulations of stature estimation and age estimation respectively.ResultsAmong the 273 teenagers surveyed, the youngest is 9.17-year-old, and the oldest is 18.93-year-old. They are classified into 5 group by age, in which the people between 11 and 12 years old are most, accounting for 41.76%, subsequently are 9~(5.13%),13~(35.90%),15~(12.09),16~17 (5.13%). The female are more. The number of male is 103(37.73%), and the number of female is 170(62.27%). The number of height between 140-is 21(7.69%),150~is 88(32.23%),160~is 113(41.39%),170~is 47(17.22%), and 180~is 4 (1.47%).1 The establishment of sexual discriminant methodThe teenagers of male and female are represented by symbol g=1 and g=2 respectively. Using SPSS 15.0 software and adopting stepwise discriminantion analysis to make Fisher discriminant. There is a variable (ln(MP-FH facial angle)) in the introduced discriminant formulation. The variance analytical result of the typical discriminant equation shows, the Eigenvalue, the rate of square sum among class and sum of squares with groups is 1.015, Canonical corr is 0.821, and theλvalue of Wilks is 0.485. Through X2 is 24.22, P<0.05. According to the standardized tsunenori discriminant coefficient, the formulation is: Y=-10.251+3.029 ln[MP-FH facial angle]. The ln[MP-FH facial angle] mean values of the male and female are introduced into the equation above respectively, so we can acquire the mean discriminant values Y1 and Y2. For example, table 1-12, Y1=-0.156, Y2=0.095, so miscriminant critical value Yc=(Y1+Y2)/2=-0.0305. Because of Y1
