Objective: To research the treatment protocols of35dento-maxillofacial deformitiesand the selection of technique and the prevention and cure of complication. Mothods:Assembling35cases of dento-maxillofacial deformities who had been therapied bydepartment of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the first affiliated hospital of xinjiangmedical university from2006to2011. The effect of Orthognathic Surgery is analysisedand evaluated by preoperative and postoperative facial forms and clinical examination ofoccluding relation and cephalometric radiograph and so on. Results:83operations wereused to correct the dento-maxillofacial deformities. The wounds of35cases obtainedprimary healing. facial forms and occluding relation of35cases acquired apparentamelioration. The most frequent complication were obstruction of respiratory tract andMaxillary Sinusitis of postoperative (7/35), The second frequent complication washaemorrhage (5/35), The third complication was malocclusion (4/35), The fourthcomplication was postoperative infection (4/35), The fifth complication was injuries ofinferior alveolar nerve (1/35), other complications was rare. Conclusions: The surgerytreatment of dento-maxillofacial deformities should be performed according to differenttypes of dento-maxillofacial deformities and clinical inspection and cephalometricradiograph and plaster model surgery and so on. Normal maxillofacial region andoccluding relation can be reconstructed by selecting proper orthognathic surgery andperforming preoperative orthodontics and postoperative orthodontics.
