Sarcopyramis nepalensis Wall. is a characteristic chinese herbal medicine in Fujian province. It is used to cure hyperactivity cough, vertigo, tinnitus, deafness, hepatitis, rheumatism, bruises, boils, swollen unknown poison. This paper was concerned about the Water-soluble chemical constituents of Sarcopyramis nepalensis Wall. by reversed-phase chromatography. Eighteen compounds were obtained including three novel compounds. The terpene glycosides were named as Sarconepaside A,Sarconepaside B and Sarconepaside C. The thirteen structures known compounds have been identified, including flavonoids, terpenoids, and phenylpropanoid compounds. The known compounds were pterodontriol D-6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, Corchoionoside C, Quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, Rutin, Narcissin, caffeic acid,3-O-α-D-glucoside-7-O-β-L-rhamnosid, (2R,3R)-dihydroquercetin-3-β-glucopyranoside, Taxifolin-7-glucoside, 1-Caffeoylquinic acid, Glucoferulic acid, wikatromol and 1-Feruloyl-β-D-Glucopyranose. The known thirteen compounds were isolated for the first time from Sarcopyramis nepalensis Wall. Inhibitory activities of the Terpenoids to NF-κB were investigated, but all were inactive.
