Objective Form-deprivation myopia model of C57BL/6 mouse is established, and to study on the expression and effects of bFGF and iNOS in the C57BL/6 mouse. Methods Eighty 21-days C57BL/6 mouse were devided into two large groups randomly:Form-deprivation groups(n=10) and Normal contral groups(n=10). The FD group was treated by unilateral lid suture for 0 days,1 week,2 weeks and recoverd for 1 week after 2 weeks'deprivation. The normal contral group was the mouse with the same ages to the experiment groups. The refraction and axial length of the eyes were measured after treatments. Then the gene bFGF and iNOS expression in retina of deprived eyes and contralateral fellow eyes were quantified by RT-PCR.Bivariate correlations analyze the relation ship between bFGF and iNOS expression in retina. Results (1)The FD eyes had a myopia shift compared to the fellow eyes. After 2 weeks, treated eye form a obvious myopic shift(about-2.50 D)compared to the normal contral eyes(P<0.05).And recovered for 1 week after 2 weeks'deprivation, the relative myopia shift will diminished. Also, the difference in refraction of form-deprived and fellow eyes was significantly correlated with the difference in axial length, which indicate that the induced myopia was mainly axial.(2) The expression of bFGF and iNOS decreased significantly following the development of myopia(P<0.05). After one week's recovery, The expression of bFGF and iNOS increased significantly(P<0.01).The expression of bFGF was significantly correlative with the expression of iNOS(correlation coefficient 0.963).Conclusion The myopia can induced by Form-deprivation in the C57BL/6 mouse, also the C57BL/6 mice may become a reasonable myopia model. The expression change of bFGF and iNOS on retina was significantly correlated with the development of myopia. They may be regulationed derectly or indirectly by them or another genes. They are the possible factors to inhibit the development of myopia.
