Objective:To investigate the effects of percutaneous nephrolithotomy on renal function in the early postoperative period. Methods:A total of 54 patients with renal calculi was assigned to undergo either MPCNL or PCNL surgery. Clinical data including preoperative and postoperative serum cretin,β2-microglobulin, retinol binding protein, operation time and eGFR were compared.Results:16-18F and 24F percutaneous renal access were successfully established in MPCNL and PCNL group respectively. The operation time of MPCNL group was longer than PCNL group. There was no statistical difference of renal function between preoperative and postoperative in either group. BMG and RBP were significantly higher after operation when the operation time was longer than 2h in both groups. The patients with a complication of hemmorage or postoperatively fever had BMG and/or RBP significantly changing after PCNLConclusions:There were no significant reduction of renal function in the early postoperative period in either MPCNL or standard tract PCNL. And PCNL may protect the renal function of the patients with renal insufficiency. The long time of operation, massing hemorrhage and postoperative fever may be risk factors of impairment renal function...
