To explore the influencing factors of dysspermia by masturbation for semen routine examination. Methods:A cross-sectional retrospective study is used.240 male sterility patients who accepted semen routine inspection were investigated by a questionnaire survey in the Reproductive Center of the Second Xiangya Hospital during June 2008 to October 2008. The questionnaires included:Individual information sheet, Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90), sexual life subscale of Olson Marital quality questionnaire (ENRICH).Descriptive analysis, T-test, Fisher's Exact Test, Chi-square test, Multivariate linear stepwise regression and Logistic regression were performed by the Statistical Product and Service Solutions(SPSS)11.5.Results1.240 male sterility patients participated the semen routine inspection by masturbation.220 of them responded validly, the effective recovery rate was as high as 90.2%.2.The total SCL-90 score (137.50±34.96) of the 220 male sterility patients undergoing sperm routine inspection was significantly higher than the national norm(129.96±38.76) (P<0.05).The score of the factors such as anxiety, fear, somatization, obsessive, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility and depression were also significantly higher than norm (P<0.05). Multivariate linear regression showed that the main influence factor of mental status during Sperm Retrieval was whether ejaculation disorder.3.Compared each variable between 31 cases with dysspermia and 189 cases without dysspermia, the age, marriage age, duration of infertility of the defective ejaculation group were significantly higher than normal ejaculation group (P<0.05). The two groups have statistical significant differences in whether having a child, whether having infertility factors, whether having family infertility history, whether having excessive expectations of their elders, whether having the history of masturbation, sexual frequency per week, the attitude of the wife (P<0.05),the chances of having a baby, masturbation history, sexual frequency per week, the wife's support in ejaculation disorder group are less than that in the normal ejaculation group (P<0.05),while female without infertility factors, having a family history of infertility, having excessive expectations of the elders, having a crude environment are significantly more than the normal ejacution disorder group (P<0.05),but there were no significant differences between the two groups in education level, marital per capita monthly income, occupation, fertility duration, cost of treatment, with or without extra-marital sexual history, whether the first-line semen routine examination, whether primary infertility (P> 0.05).4.Compared SCL-90 and Olson Marital sexual life quality questionnaire subscales (ENRICH) of the two sets of patients, it was showed:in ejaculation disorder group, the SCL-90 score and the anxiety, fear, somatization, obsessive and interpersonal factor score were significantly higher than normal ejaculation group (P<0.05), while the sexual life score was significantly lower than normal ejaculation group (P <0.01).5. The results of analyzing the influence factor of ejaculation disorder by Logistic regression analysis showed that:the SCL-90 score, the score of sexual life, the environment of Sperm Retrieval Room, the attitude of his wife, age, history of masturbation are the main factors influencing ejaculation.Conclusion1.The male sterilities undergoing semen routine examination by masturbation obviously have higher psychological pressure mainly for anxiety, fear, somatization and sensitive interpersonal relationship than normal, ejaculation obstacles is the main influencing factor of the psychological pressure in this phase.2. High mental pressure, disharmonious sexual relationship between husbands and wives, the crude environment of the Sperm Retrieval Room, the wife's negative manner, older age and having no masturbation history were the major influencing factors on dysspermia by masturbation during semen routine examination.
