Frucus Aurantii Immaturus (FAI) and Frucus Aurantii (FA) from Citrus wilsonii Tanaka grown in Shaanxi area were used as the research material, according to the standard of Chinese Pharmacopoeia edition in 2005, as well as combining with achievements in researches on FAI and FA from the other species, the active ingredients in FAI and FA, such as flavonoids, alkaloids and volatile oil were analyzed and compared. The medicinal quality and medicinal value of C. wilsonii growing in Shaanxi area were discussed to provide scientific data for its development.Flavonoids: The composition of FAI and FA from different origin was collected by the method of circumfluence and its content was measured by the method of ultraviolet spectrophotometry; besides, the content of the naringin and neohesperidin was measured by the method of HPLC, and a comparative analysis was made on FAI and FA of different species. The results showed that: FAI and FA from C. wilsonii had the higher content of the naringin, and the average content of naringin in FAI and FA from 7 Counties was more than 4%, which come up to the standard of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Comparing with the component of flavones in the FAI and FA with other species, C. wilsonii had little narirutin, hesperidin or neohesperidin; And HPLC chromatogram showed a single peak, but C. aurantium'xiucheng', Poncirus trifoliata, C. aurantium and C. sinensis showed double peaks. The total content of flavones in FAI in each species was higher than that in FA; the total content of flavones in C. wilsonii was lower than that with other species.Alkaloids: Synephrine in FAI was extracted by Ultrasonic extraction and its content was measured by HPLC, and then was analyzed and compared. The results showed that: among all the FAI from C. wilsonii produced in seven counties at Hanzhong City, only the content of synephrine in FAI producted in Nanzheng County was up to 0.403%, and the rest there were a little content. The average content of synephrine of FAI and FA grown in Hanzhong City account for 0.223%, which was lower than 0.3% prescriptive of Chinese Pharmacopoeia in 2005 edi. However, the content of synephrine in C. aurantium'xiucheng'(Jiangxi), Poncirus trifoliate (Hunan), and C. aurantium (Sichuan) suit the prescriptive requirent. The volatile oil: The volatile oil from FAI and FA of C. wilsonii was extracted by steam distillization, and was identified by GC-MS. The differences between volatile oil constituents of C. wilsonii and C. aurantium were analyzed. The results showed that: there are 0.71% and 0.33% volatile oil content in FAI and FA. The major components of volatile oil in the C. wilsonii were D-limonene,γ-terpinene, etc, which are important active ingredient in FAI and FA, and the former's content was higher than the latter's. However, other components and content of the volatile oil in the C. wilsonii were different from the one in FAI and FA of the species of C. aurantium.Based on the researches and analysis, it was concluded that as a Chinese medicine, FAI and FA from C. wilsonii grown in Shaanxi had a difference from the prescriptive species of Chinese Pharmacopoeia in the content of flavones and alkaloids components. Among component of the flavones, only naringin content was higher than the requirements of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and the other three components were lower; the content of alkaloids and synephrine was lower than the requirements of Chinese Pharmacopoeia; the component of the volatile oil was higher than C. aurantium, but other constituents and content had some differences. According to the analysis above, the major medicinal components and content of FAI and FA grown in Shaanxi were similar with requirements of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and some indicators of them were higher than its requirements. Therefore, as a kind of local idiomatic Chinese medicine, it is valuable. However, the comparative experiments on pharmacological effects and toxic effects are still needed to start further research.
