Objective:To detect the renal size, cortical thickness and echo-intensity, blood flow distribution and haemodynamics of renal arteries of patients with IgA nephropathy by color Doppler ultrasonography and to approach value of color Doppler ultrasonography in estimating the function of renal. Methods:Eighty patients with IgA nephropathy were classified into three groups according to clinical symptoms and biochemical indicators, IgA-lgroup, IgA-2group and IgA-3group. Thirty healthy persons were selected as control group in each subject, renal size cortical thickness and echo intensity, blood flow distribution conditions and their blood flow parameter were recorded through color Doppler ultrasound. The differences of parameters were analyzed in each group. Results: In each group of IgA nephropathy, the cortical echo intensity was enhanced differently; the cortical thickness was increaser in IgA-1;IgA-3 group's cortical thickness was thinner and the volume was more significantly diminished than those of normal persons. The more severe the damage of renal function was, the more obvious the decrease of blood flow was, normal group and group IgA-1 show as type I or typeⅡ, group IgA-2 shows as typeⅡand typeⅢ, group IgA-3 shows as typeⅢand typeⅣ. RI(0.51±0.03) of IRA (interlobar renal artery) of group IgA-1 was lower than control group (0.56±0.04),the difference has statistical significance; In the patients of group IgA-3,the Vs and Vd were lower, RI of IRA was significantly higher than control group, and the difference has statistical significance. Conclusion:The renal size, cortical thickness and echo-intensity,blood flow distribution conditions and blood flow parameter IRA of every renal arteries were valuable in diagnosing and evaluating the damages of renal function and vascular in the patients of IgA nephropathy.
