Objective:To observe the clinical effects of acupuncture combined with meloxicam in treating type of phlegm and blood stasis rheumatoid arthritis.It is expected to improve the patients'quality of life.Method:38 cases with type of phlegm and blood stasis rheumatoid arthritis are randomly divided into 2 groups, there are 18 cases in the treatment group and 20 cases in the control group. Patients in treatment group were given acupuncture and moxibustion combined with meloxicam for oral administration; the control group were merely given oral meloxicam. All of two groups took 4 weeks and divided 2 times for observe; after treatment 2week observe the sign and symptom; and after treatment 4 week observe the sign and symptom,ESR,CRP,SF-36 quality of life test.Results:1. After treatment 2 weeks, there is statistical difference (p<0.05) between treatment group and control group in the joint tenderness score, swelling score, joint swelling count, morning stiffness and pain score; the treatment group all of the sign and symptom were improved;but the control group joint tenderness count and joint swelling count,there is no significant difference(p>0.05).2.After treatment 4 weeks, there is statistical difference (p<0.05) between treatment group and control group in the joint tenderness score, swelling score, joint tenderness count,swelling count, morning stiffness, pain score; and both of the groups there are statistical difference (p<0.05) in all of the sign and symptom,ESR,CRP.3. The power of gripping, ESR, CRP in both of the groups were improved after treatment, while there was no significant difference (p>0.05)between two groups.4. The markedly effective rate and improve rate in treatment group were 11.1% and 77.8%, while the control group were 0% and 40%.5. Comparing the changes in quality of life test:in the vitality,role emotional,mental health test there is significant difference (p<0.05) between treatment group and control group,however the physical function and body pain test,there is no significant difference (p>0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture and moxibustion combine with meloxicam can remarkably improve the symptoms and the patients'quality of life.
