Objective:The prethrombotic state can be observed in lung cancer patients. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the plasma levels of fibrinogen(FIB), fibrin degradation products(FDP), D-dimer(D-D),and antithrombin-III(AT-III) activeness in prothrombotic state marks on pathophysiological characteristics and prognosis in patients with lung cancer.Mothods: We investigated plasma levels of fibrinogen, fibrin degradation products, D-dimer,and antithrombin-III activeness in 42 patients with primary lung cancer between Jun, 2008 and Nov, 2009 in the Yan'an University Affiliated Hospital Respiratory Department and compared these to 30 healthy controls.Results:1.The plasma levels of fibrinogen, fibrin degradation products and D-dimer were significantly higher than those of normal controls. And there was extremely significant statistics difference(P<0.01). The antithrombin-III activeness was no significant difference between the patients with lung cancer and control group(P>0. 05).2.The plasma levels of fibrinogen, fibrin degradation products, D-dimer, and antithrombin-III activeness in patients with lung cancer were not related to age, sex, histological classification(P>0. 05).3.When the lung cancer patient is in the diffusion period or has distant metastasis, the plasma levels of fibrinogen, fibrin degradation products and D-dimer are higher than normal (P <0. 01). The antithrombin-III activeness is no significant change. (P > 0. 05)4.The plasma levels of fibrinogen and D-dimer in patients with lung cancer were negatively correlated to survival(FIB correlation r=-0.945,P=0.000;D-D correlation r=-0.683,P=0.000). The fibrin degradation products and antithrombin-III activeness in patients with lung cancer were not correlated to survival(P>0. 05).Conclusions:1.The plasma levels of fibrinogen, fibrin degradation products, and D-dimer in patients with lung cancer was significantly higher than normal, indicating that there is hypercoagulability state and secondary increased fibrinolytic activity, these contribute to thrombi.2.The plasma levels of fibrinogen and D-dimer measured in patients with lung cancer have important value to warning metastasis and prognosis of patients lung cancer patients.3.The medicine treatment of anticoagulation and promoting blood circulation may have important clinical significance for the patients with lung cancer.
