Background:KTS is a congenital vascular malformation complex disease, its clinical manifestations can affect many parts of the body, showing:(1) capillary malformations (port wine stain); (2) soft tissue and bone hypertrophy; (3) varicose veins, KTS can cause disability and deformity, not uncommon in clinical practice.the patient was great pain and mental stress. The present study of the disease mainly correct venous system malformation. Recent studies show that, venous system and arterial system of KTS are abnormal. The angiography showed abnormal secondary and tertiary branches of limb artery increased significantly, as the extensive capillary malformation or small arteriovenous fistula. Abnormal secondary and tertiary branches of limb artery should be intervened. Objective:By Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome (KTS) surgery and interventional embolization therapy of observation and comparison, evaluate the effect of surgical treatment and interventional embolization therapy. Methods:26 patients of KTS in the intervention group were treated by Seldinger technique through femoral artery catheterization, angiography showed abnormalities of the second, three arterial branch, with a Cobra catheter or microcatheter superselective by branches into the abnormal artery, angiography confirmed, the sodium alginate microsphere vascular embolic agent through the catheter into the abnormal blood vessels. Line angiography after Interventional embolization to ensure patency trunk,3 patients with more residual varicose veins after intervention, stipped varicose On third day after surgery veins after deep vein patency Confirmed by color Doppler; Five cases of upper limb of surgical group were treated with surgical ligation of the part of the 2nd grade abnormal artery branches of the axillary artery, brachial artery.8 cases of lower extremity were treated with surgical ligation via part of the abnormalities secondary branches of femoral artery, superficial femoral, deep femoral artery. All cases of superficial varices with deep vein patency confirmed by color Doppler stripped the superficial vein at the same time.Results:Short-term effect of two treatments was no significant difference, can improve symptoms. However, the surgical treatment group, limb artery abnormalities secondary and tertiary branches are incompleted resection, long-term effects is poor. Embolization treatment group, limb artery abnormalities secondary and tertiary branches of most of the embolism, trauma, rapid recovery, long-term effect is good. Conclusion:Transcatheter superselective embolization is a minimally invasive treatment of KTS, safety, success rate and efficacy of certain treatments.
