ObjectiveTo compare the aerodynamic and electroglottography parameters of vocal polyps and vocal nodules before and after laryngeal microsurgery. Analysis the correlation between aerodynamic and electroglottography parameters.Aimed at finding important parameters in clinical and provide an objective basis to know the level of the lesion's impact of vocal function,then evaluate the effect of surgical treatment.MethodsAerodynamic and electroglottography parameters of 141 patients with vocal polyps or vocal nodules and 50 normal adult were measured before and after laryngeal microsurgery by Aerophone II Voice function Analyzer and Dr Speech Science for windows,Mean airflow rate,intraoral pressure,glottal resistance,glottal efficiency,Jitter,Shimmer,NNE,HNR,CQ,CI,CQP,CIP were compared in different group.The correlations of mean airflow rate and the parameters of electroglottography were analyzed with Pearson correlations.P<0.05 is regard as the difference has statistical significance.Results1.The difference between mean airflow rate, glottal resistance and glottal efficiency of vocal polyps,vocal nodules and normal adult was significant(p<0.01). The difference of intraoral pressure between vocal polyps and normal adult was significant(p<0.01).The mean airflow rate, intraoral pressure,glottal efficiency were significantly different between vocal polyps and vocal nodules(p<0.01).2.The difference between Jitter,Shimmer,NNE,HNR, CQP of vocal polyps,vocal nodules and normal adult was significant(p<0.01).CQ,CI and CIP has no statistically significant between normal adult and patient(p>0.05).3.After Laryngeal microsurgery the mean airflow rate, intraoral pressure, Jitter,Shimmer,NNE, CQP decrease and glottal resistance,vocal efficiency,HNR increase.The difference is significant(p<0.01).4.The mean airflow rate of vocal polyps,vocal nodules and NNE, CQP were positively correlated. The mean airflow rate and HNR were negative correlated.It has no correlation with Jitter,Shimmer,CQ,CI and CIP.ConclusionThe airflow rate,subglottal pressure increased,glottal resistance increases,vocal efficiency decreased in vocal polyps and vocal nodules patients, the degree in patients with vocal polyp are more severe. Vocal polyps, vocal nodules will lead to a decline in voice quality, the stability of vocal cord vibration will decline and impact vocal cord closure, CQ,CI, CIP has little significance in diagnose of these two kinds of disease. Laryngeal microsurgery can effectively improve the quality and efficiency of patient's voice.Aerodynamic and electroglottography examination are non-invasive and they can quantify the degree of lesion, the two examination combined with laryngoscopy can systematic evaluate the voice diseases, they also can evaluate the effect of therapy and follow-up visit.
