Milan Kundera has always been considered a thinker and existential writer, or a politics somehow. . Mostly Kundera is viewed as novelist in this article, who has the imagination of an ancient writer, and the artistic creation of a contemporary novelist.As a writer, Kundera is also a good novel theorists, this paper argues that as the novelist Kundera is under the influence of the theoretician Kundera. Kundera's is the guidance of his creation and his novel writing is actually a practice of his novel ethics on his novel theories. Therefore, this paper will study several important problems of Kundera's novel theory. This article is divided into four chapters, main points as follows:In his novel, One of Kundera's main applications of art is "jocosity ". This view is based on his novel theory, Kundera divides the history of the novels into two halves. The first half is represented by Cervantes and Francois Rabelais and the second-half Balzac. Kundera likes the first half because of its free imagination and sense of humor, so his style in the plot of his novels is "jocosity " too.Kundera is always in pursuit of a style which can be named"fragmentation". Fragmentation to Kundera means that his novels are more specific and sensible. This fragmentation style of expression means being true to Kundera.When Kundera is trying to make a character, he tries to make it in a concept. This means his character is in a state of lost in his own mind. All his characters is in this kind of state, just as he said, his characters are often come from a "word".In this paper, five characters of Kundera's novels will be analyzed in detail.The paper holds the belief that Kundera's novels show a dream of pastoral life. This is one of the characteristics of the novel narration, so this paper will analyze it carefully.Anyhow, this paper is to explain several of the narrative characteristics of Kundera's novels by combining Kundera's theories with several notable features of his own novels. This paper will be helpful for the interpretation of this strange contemporary novelist.
