However, Lao She is a Chinese modern intellectual who deeply influenced by the traditional culture, his ideal personalities inevitably imprinted by the traditional culture, the two different cultures cannot combine with each other fundamentally, Hence, Lao She's ideal personalities of intellectuals is not the independent personalities in western modern culture. And the independent personalities aiming at western cultural spirits cannot be set up on traditional basis. What we should do is to seek the uniqueness of our own culture, so that Chinese culture will win its vitality, and Chinese intellectuals would keep the distinctive cultural identification.
