Research On The Influence Of Different Cultural Values On Mental Health And Personality About Contemporary University Students

The aim of this research is to design the modern values questionnaire and the network values questionnaire based on an open-ended questionnaire and overviews of former studies, and to explore the status quo of contemporary university students'value diversity and the relationship among different cultural values, mental health and personality.The conclusions are as follows:1. The modern values include four factors and the modern values questionnaire has good reliability and validity. The network values include three factors and the network values questionnaire has good reliability and validity;2. The university students'values exist diverse phenomena, but the traditional values still take dominant status.3. The university students'value diversity has significantly difference in the gender, whether only child, grade variables, but urban or rural effect only in individual dimensionality of the traditional values and the network values has statistical significant.4. Mental health has significant positive correlation with the traditional values and the modern values, while significant negative correlation with the network values. Different cultural values influence the mental health.5. The discrepancy of conflict between the traditional and modern values markedly related to individual dimensionality of the mental health. The conflict between the traditional and network values influence the mental health, meanwhile, the conflict between the modern and network values influence the mental health6. The traditional values have significant positive correlation with extraversion, openness and conscientiousness, while the modern values have significant positive correlation with extraversion, openness, conscientiousness and agreeableness. There is significant positive correlation between the network values and five personality traits. Different cultural values influence extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness.7. The discrepancy of conflicting values markedly related to agreeableness and conscientiousness.
